What is softfall / wetpour?

A softfall or wetpour surface is a mixture of rubber granules bound together by a polyurethane resin and laid on an existing suitable, or specially prepared base to provide a continuous rubber surface free from seams or joints.

Aesthetic

Wetpour is ideal for outdoor play surfaces and can be laid in any shape or pattern with a choice of either synthetic rubber or recycled rubber and in a selection of bright permanent colours. For colours available in the synthetic EPDM rubber granules click here or colours available in the RPCR rubber granules click here.

Where can it be used?

The Rubberworx Wetpour surface is perfect for use on playground surfaces and other areas where the risk of falling could be particularly dangerous. Wetpour outdoor rubber flooring has been successfully applied as outdoor playground flooring & surfacing and performs excellently in a wide range of locations.

The wetpour rubber surface can be used in many sporting facilities; path-ways around hospitals; schools; childcare facilities; retirement villages; and in public facilities. Depending on the fall-height requirements, Rubberworx are happy to offer you expert advice on what is suitable for your project.  Click here to view Rubberworx fall height chart.

What’s involved?

The rubber granules and the polyurethane binders are mixed and laid on-site as a wetpour product to create a safe and seamless covering which makes a perfect playground safety surface. Wetpour can be applied on either a purpose built base usually of cement-stabilised crushed and compacted rock or over an existing foundation such as concrete.

For an area with a greater fall height requirement such as a children’s playground, an additional complete layer of raw recycled rubber is used underneath the top coloured layer to further absorb impact. Click here to view Rubberworx fall height chart.

Of course, a continuous wet pour is not always the most suitable option for playground flooring or other surfacing requirements so we also supply a range of playground rubber mats and outdoor play tiles to meet your specific needs.
